Hebrews‬ ‭7:26-28‬ ‭

“For this is the kind of high priest we need: holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens. He doesn’t need to offer sacrifices every day, as high priests do — first for their own sins, then for those of the people. He did this once for all time when he offered himself. For the law appoints as high priests men who are weak, but the promise of the oath, which came after the law, appoints a Son, who has been perfected forever.”‭‭

There is one thing on which the whole world can agree a man called Jesus walked on the Earth 2000 years ago. When He was here, He did a lot of miracles. He was a man that walked without sin, and He was flawless. Between Christianity, Islam, and history, these points are considered unarguable facts. Nobody else has walked on this Earth that was even close to Him. Why more people do not come to study His ways, I do not know, and I would argue this in itself is sufficient proof that He is God as a man. Because the inherent human nature is to run from the truth of God and the majority of humanity runs from the reality of Jesus.

Jesus is the only one who walked holy, innocent, and undefiled. It is because of His perfection that He is appointed. It is because He walked out the fullness of God’s purpose for humanity, perfect unity with the will, mind, and heart of God unto complete submission no matter the cost. This unity is why we follow Him. We choose to follow the perfect One. In your walk, do you spend more time trying to follow people who have ultimately sinned and always will fall short of the glory of God? Or do you spend your focus on following what Jesus teaches and did? At the end of the day, why focus on following people who have sinned when you can follow the One who never did sin but endured the price of sin for all humanity?
Today renew yourself and choose to follow the One who never sinned.
