‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭7:15-17‬ ‭

“And this becomes clearer if another priest like Melchizedek appears, who did not become a priest based on a legal regulation about physical descent but based on the power of an indestructible life. For it has been testified: You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”

Now that we understand Melchizedek (go back and re-read days 209&210) and the importance of the king-priest who blessed Abraham, the author reminds us that the Old Testament prophesies about another priest coming in the order of Melchizedek. This our King, Jesus.

Jesus as man, in the flesh, had no legal right to the priesthood, for He was from the line of Judah, Not Levi, as required by the Deuteronomy law. He did not have a legal right to be a priest. Instead, He came differently. Through the power of an indestructible life, by the fact that He died and rose again three days later. His life lived with sin or flaw, which was laid down freely to pay the price for sin which He did not commit, gave Him the legal authority to be the eternal priest under the order of Melchizedek.

Today let that be your thought, that Jesus was the only person who lived a sinless life. He is perfect, without flaw. He is the example of perfection, a mirror image of God for us to view and understand. What a glorious eternal King-Priest we have.
