“Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s household, as a testimony to what would be said in the future. But Christ was faithful as a Son over his household. And we are that household if we hold on to our confidence and the hope in which we boast.” Hebrews 3:5-6

When we stop and reflect on all that Moses did for God’s chosen people, it really can be quite overwhelming. From challenging the pharaoh to parting oceans, to leading people through the wilderness, he did more than any of us can imagine doing for God. But to think, Moses was just a testimony or a highlight of what would be coming in the future. Another way you can think about it, Moses was the starter or a taster portion of the main meal that was going to come in the future.

The future which he was testifying for is the time of Jesus, who was a faithful Son to the Kingdom of God. Moses was but a faithful servant, whereas Jesus was the faithful Son! Because Jesus was faithful as the Son, His way has so much more hope and glory compared to that of the faithful servant. Why? Because a servant only has what responsibility has been handed to him (Moses had a lot). BUT the Son gets it all! So because of this, we hold on in faith no matter what circumstance faces us. Our hope is not in a system or a method (the way of the servant) but in the living Son who set us free. Our hope is now held in a person and because of that, we stand firm.
