“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way as we are, yet without sin. Therefore, let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.” Hebrews‬ ‭4:15-16‬ ‭

In the Old Testament, a priest from the line of Aaron would be appointed as the high priest, whose job it was to stand between God Almighty and the people. This person’s job would be to offer sacrifices to God on behalf of the people and the sins that had been committed. Today our high priest is Jesus, who in His love for us, paid the price we could not pay.

Through His love for us, He was able to overcome the temptations by which the flesh fails by. He faced the same temptations as me and you, yet He was able to live without falling into sin. Due to the fact that He overcame what we could not overcome, we can not approach the throne with boldness. Why? Because we are not approaching the almighty perfect God. No no, we are approaching Jesus, God as man, crucified, died and resurrected for our salvation. We are approaching Jesus who walked as we walked and struggled as we struggle, BUT, he was able to overcome and do what we could not do; perfect submission to God.

Therefore, when we are in need and trialled and struggling we must boldly get before Him because He understands our struggle He is well able to help us and guide us through the trials and tribulations that will come.
