They will all wear out like clothing; you will roll them up like a cloak, and they will be changed like clothing. But you are the same, and your years will never end.”

Our Lord, Christ Jesus, He is the creator of all things. Everything was made through Him and as the creator of all things, He chose to suffer for those who He created so that they may be able to be restored back to Him. It really is a magnificent thought, that the man who was crucified on the cross, in our place, is the creator of ALL. Now, we can start to understand why the heavens declare “worthy is the Lamb who was slain” (Revelation 5:12).

But today, I want to break down what has been a terrible root that has grown throughout modern Christianity. Note in this portion of text it is mentioned that the Lord our God is the same; He never changes and His years will never end. Our God is eternal and by nature of being eternal He cannot and will not change!

This means that the God of the Old Testament is also the God of the New Testament. The God in Genesis, Exodus, Deuteronomy, Isaiah, Matthew, John & Revelation, it is the same God! The same character, the same God. He is the same. So today, remove any thoughts that the God of the Old Testament is wrath and the God of the New Testament is love and freedom. These thoughts imply a God that changes and therefore is not eternal and is a liar (because His word says He does not change).

Today, take the time to sit before God and ask Him to reveal Himself to you, the truth of who He is. Then look to the scriptures and look to see Jesus throughout the whole Bible. Because our God is eternal and He does not change.
