“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?'”
 Matthew 25:31-41.

At the heart of Eleutheria Community, we are looking to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We are seeking to go out and help those in need. The Word teaches us to love our neighbour as ourselves, in fact it teaches us to love our enemies, to feed them if they are hungry or give them water when they are thirsty. We truly believe that serving others in love will not lead us astray.

The only person in the Bible who received a rebuke for wanting to help the poor was Judas Iscariot, but he was just planning on stealing the money anyway! We believe that the Gospel message is one of freedom and power. We have understood that if we have truly died with Christ, we should no longer live for the treasures of this world (Matthew 6:19-21) and instead seek to live out the parable of the good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37).

We have personally found that when we step out and act in alignment with the Word of God, the endless joy that is promised from the Lord is released to us. At Eleutheria Community, we are always looking to see where the Lord will lead us so that we can be the hands and feet of Jesus. At the end of the day, our God owns everything as He created it all, so why would we as His children, not be generous?
