He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.
As we read on from yesterday’s devotional we see it cemented that troubles and sufferings are an essential part of a Christians walk, but we have our comfort in Christ Jesus (verse 5). As we read on we can take hold of the fact that in our walks, if we know God saved us once, He will save us again, of that there is no doubt. So if you find yourself in a season of distress, sit back and let your faith grow into what you know God has saved you from in the past.
As we step forward into this text we see that Paul gives thanks because of the gracious favor that was granted because of the prayers of many. There is so much to grasp here, but I will draw your focus to the fact many were praying over the issues that Paul and his team faced. In the walk with the Lord, it is ESSENTIAL, to walk with family as family, in humility, being able to share about your problems in order to activate gracious favor from God.
It can become all to easy to become self centered or self conscious about sharing your issues, but one thing that is clear, it is through the corporate prayers that great favor is released from heaven. Today embrace your family in Christ and share about the issues you face so you can collectively petition before God.
